1. How long has Crew Call, Inc. been in business?

Crew Call, Inc. was founded in 1982, in Hollywood, and has grown to become the oldest and largest crew referral service in the world, with offices in Northern and Southern California, New York, Chicago and Miami .

2. Do you guarantee me work?

Crew Call does not act as your agent, as result, we work on a flat low monthly fee not a percentage of your earnings. Companies call us to fill their crew positions and we forward that information directly to you. It is then your responsibility to secure and negotiate the position.

3. What kind of companies offer work?

About 80% of our job postings are for motion pictures, with the balance covering video, tv, commercials, etc. All below-the-line positions are represented with mostly non-union projects.

4. Why do companies use Crew Call?

It is quite simple. They get pre-screened crew personnel at no cost to them for our service.

5. How many job calls can I expect to get per month?

Generally 30-60+ job calls a month per category. We crew well over 300 projects a month.

7. Are the jobs paying?

You bet! Crew Call does not knowingly accept free or deferral listings, all projects are paid.

8. What is the payrate?

That varies greatly, small productions at $150+ per day to larger projects at full union scale.

9. How do I learn about my job postings?

Crew Call issues you a Crew Call e-mail account which is where we send your job postings. If at any time you don't have access to the internet you can use our free local phone access to call and HEAR your Crew Call e-mail job postings read to you. Very similar to our exclusive voice mail box system of the past. You then follow the directions and respond to the companies and negotiate your work

10. Do you accept crew beginners?

As production assistants only - no experience required!

11. How does Crew Call differ from services providing a printed list or from the listings in the trades?

Since 1982, Crew Call has been receiving calls from the companies to fill positions. That information is placed in your e-mail box within 1-2 hours. You will be first to respond. Lists take days and days to compile, print and distribute. The listings in the trades are for the purpose of garnering distributors and investors, not to acquire crew personnel.

12. Can I trust Crew Call?

With hundreds of clients, worldwide, you are in safe company. Check with the Better Business Bureau and find we have never had a complaint.

13. What geography do the postings cover?

Crew Call is nationwide and has postings in all states, as well as, foreign. The largest number of positions, however, originate in the Southern California area.

14. How quick can I get started?
